Trips and Days out

There is a huge amount of interest in the surrounding region – not least, the countryside itself, which is beautiful in all directions.  Carcassonne makes an ideal touring base.  There are Cathar castles and sleepy French villages, inland swimming lakes and rivers or wide sandy beaches, bustling market towns and the cosmopolitan attractions of Toulouse and Montpellier all within an hour or two of 42rvh.

If you have your own car, Peter will happily help you plan a route, depending on what you want to see or do.  During the summer months the town provides tours to some of the more popular local destinations such as a half day tour to the caves at Cabrespine or a full day out to visit the beautiful abbeys at Lagrasse and Fontfroide.
